Reconstruction of the Monastery
Nepali highlanders are Buddhists. The earthquake destroyed many monasteries and other religious buildings. To reconstruct their monasteries is important to normalize their daily life and to preserve their identity. They are an angular piece of the cultural and religious traditions of these Nepali mountain villages. There is a need of financial and technical assistance to rebuild monasteries, Stupas, Kaanis, Chortens and Mani lockors, as well as to preserve paintings and statues. Congers (guards) take charge of the care and maintenance of the monasteries, but they lack of economic resources for reconstruction.
